Procedure

Weigh phase A in a tared beaker, adjust homogenizer and water heater. Add phase B to the main beaker while homogenizing at 800n to 1000 RPM. Premix phase C and slowly pour into the main beaker. Heat main beaker to 80-82ºC. Add phase D to main batch when heated and mix until uniform. Heat phase E to 82-85ºC. Add phase E to the main batch and homogenize (1500 RPM). Add phase F to the main batch at 45ºC. Add phase G to adjust the pH to between 5.0-5.5. Cool until 30ºC.

Properties

Appearance—Smooth, uniform cream; Color—Off-white to slightly yellow; Odor—Mildly fragrant; Viscosity—4,000-5,000 cP (Brookfield LVT4, 30 RPM); pH—5.0-5.5 Emulsion Stability (results to date)— Stable for 5 freeze-thaw cycles, Stable for 3 months at 40ºC & 50ºC.
